Travelers are being detoured from SB I-5 to South Forest Street to 6th Avenue South to Airport Way South. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ldNfKuR6re\">https:\/\/t.co\/ldNfKuR6re<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 WSDOT Traffic (@wsdot_traffic) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wsdot_traffic\/status\/1797238076693217603?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 2, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Around 4 a.m., a vehicle became disabled and one of the occupants got out, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).<\/p>\n<p>That person was then struck by a motorhome.<\/p>\n<p>Troopers said an AMR ambulance then stopped to treat the victim. While they were stopped, the ambulance was also hit and was pushed into the original disabled vehicle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More traffic<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/mynorthwest.com\/3961580\/renton-drivers-rejoice-lind-avenue-overpass-over-i-405-reopens-after-2-years\/#\/\/\">Lind Avenue overpass over I-405 reopens after 2 years<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The crash resulted in the freeway being shut down in the southbound lanes for more than four hours, according to WSDOT.<\/p>\n<p>Roads reopened around 9:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">FINAL UPDATE: All lanes of southbound I-5 just south of the West Seattle Bridge have reopened from an earlier collision. The on-ramp to southbound I-5 from the West Seattle Bridge has also reopened. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/89akLY1e87\">https:\/\/t.co\/89akLY1e87<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/bV7jNMjrWC\">pic.twitter.com\/bV7jNMjrWC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 WSDOT Traffic (@wsdot_traffic) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wsdot_traffic\/status\/1797301270740668887?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 2, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>KIRO Newsradio <a href=\"https:\/\/mynorthwest.com\/3958194\/aaa-washington-is-one-of-worst-states-for-distracted-driving\/#\/\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spoke with an AAA spokesperson last month<\/a> who said Washington is one of the worst states for distracted driving. The number one distractor &#8212; friends.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wtsc.wa.gov\/dashboards\/fatalities-dashboard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Data from the Traffic Safety Commission&#8217;s website<\/a> shows fatal crashes in Washington have dramatically increased. In 2014, there were 462 fatal crashes involving a motor vehicle reported and in 2023, there were 810 fatal crashes reported.
